I am currently recruiting a Cosy Estimator for a manufacturing company based in Bedfordshire.
Main responsibilities
• Create Bills of Materials, obtain quotations from external supplier bases and overseeing vendor selection
• Setting up Bills of Materials on the in house MRP System
• Estimating parts to meet customer requirements
• Working to tight and aggressive deadlines in a dynamic cost estimating environment
• Continuous improvement of the cost estimating processes
• A determined and pro-active approach to collecting cost data
• Regular review and maintain costs, in particular trying to achieve the most competitive costs and prices
• Construct recommended spare parts list for Customers
• Managing design change requests
Minimum Background
• Practical background working in a machine shop environment
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes particularly CNC machining
• Proposals experience with manufactured parts or purchased parts but ideally with both
• Experience within a continuous improvement / lean manufacturing culture
• I.T literate
