A highly successful manufacturer of mechanical components and sub assemblies is now seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their existing team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background with the 3D design and development of mechanical components as a whole, but more importantly a working knowledge of metal castings, metal sub assemblies or mechanical mechanisms is a must to be considered for this Design Engineer role.

This role will be working with existing products and mechanical sub assemblies and very closely with the 3rd party manufacturers and end user customers to undertake route cause analysis on the products / sub assemblies to ultimately determine if the problems / issues they are experiencing are down to design faults or more manufacturing / process issues. If the problem is determined to be of a design / development nature, then you will be working closely with the design and development team to come up with a suitable design / development solution and then create a Bill of Materials (BOM).

Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), SAP or MRP systems is also expected and you should ideally be educated to the minimum of a HNC in Mechanical Engineering
