I am currently recruiting for an Aerospace company in Christchurch who through expansion are now seeking an experienced Senior F&DT Engineer.

Technical Responsibilities

• Product F&DT compliance as specified by customer and relevant airworthiness bodies
• Planning, directing and delegating F&DT/FEM functions within the office according to best practice
• Subordinate supervision, continually ensuring team members adhere to quality/technical processes
• Contributes to minimising product weight and cost without compromising compliance specification
• Transactional record keeping: includes deliverables, conference notes, requests, queries and responses.
• Pre-issue checks and approval of documentation to ensure compliance with company policies, customer design requirements and good engineering practice prior to delivery
• Overseeing structural integrity reports, engineering and inspection queries and concessions
• Approval, subject to verification of all computer programs and databases used in the department.
• Provides structural and dynamic test recommendations and analysis of results

Project Management Responsibilities

• Provides technical and administrative leadership of a small engineering team
• Effectively programmes and manages any task allocated to the team, sets weekly goals and measures and verifies achievement
• Provides programme updates as directed with reports covering man-hour consumption, progress, issues, customer feedback and team productivity
• Determines task resource requirements based on required programme schedules
• Lead Interface with peers, other teams, departments, partners and customers on task related issues
• Lead responsibility for the annual appraisal, objective setting motivation, safety and productivity of the tea; undertakes training needs analysis for team
• monitors project progress and ensures deadlines are met
• controls & monitors project spend and produces reports as required for Head of Programme Mgmt
