Candidates will be required to have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering/design related field and a level of professional experience that will further enhance their job prospects.
Automotive video design engineers will be required to have an in depth knowledge of computer design programs, specifically those which are directly related to ADAS designs. Candidates will be expected to have CAD experience and be able to harness their creative abilities in conjunction with the use of tools such as Open CL to complete projects. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate and aid in the training of others on software/hardware methodologies for next generation applications. In addition, the ability to develop reference designs and utilise them to demonstrate tool and silicon capability is desired. Projects may include the design of internal navigation software for automotives or other applications which utilise video design skills. Algorithm video designers must use their mathematic skills for applications such as stereo vision, lane detection, object detection and motion estimation.
The role of Automotive Design Engineer will involve the utilisation of design skills and knowledge of CAD. Candidates will be expected to take CAD designs from concepts all the way through to the completed article, which will include the original drawing designs to be prepared for official release. In the more mechanical aspects of the job they will be required to produce drawings and designs detailing specific elements for the building and development of new vehicles. Electronic design engineers will be expected to have knowledge of power electronics, embedded control systems, EMC testing, DFMEA communications protocol. Programming experiences such as C+ or virtual basic will also be advantageous.
