My clients a leading technology consultancy is seeking a Mathematical Software Engineer to develop software algorithms for new projects from concept through to transfer to manufacture.
The successful Mathematical Software Engineer will preferably have recently finished a Phd in a maths, physics or other numerically based subject and have some knowledge of software programming and algorithm development in C or C++.
Desirable Industrial Background.
All backgrounds will be considered especially in a numeric or algorithm creation discipline but the following would be beneficial.
• Automation.
• Robotics.
• Image feedback.
• Medical.
• Critical Care.
• Development of complex consumer products.
Desired Skills.
• Working knowledge of C or C++ software languages.
• Evidence of problem solving abilities.
• Experience of writing algorithms.
• A high level of academic achievement. (preferably a Phd in a maths, physics or other numerically focused subject or a Masters with relevant work experience)
• Driven and motivated to progress and achieve.
• Ability to adapt to different technical challenges and think on their feet.
Key Responsibilities.
• Algorithm creation through strong analytical maths skills.
• Presentation of algorithm development documents to clients.
• Development of test protocols.
• Presentation of results to clients.
In summary the ideal Mathematical Software Engineer will preferably have just finished a Phd in a maths, physics or other numerical based discipline or a strong masters with relevant project/work experience and the ability to write software in either C or C++ as well as developing algorithms.
