Salary/Rate: £55 to £65000

Area: Dorset

A leading Food manufacturer in Dorset is now seeking an experienced Factory Production Manager to join their facility.

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, the successful Production Manager will be expected to effectively lead and manage manufacturing operations within the site function. To optimise all aspects of the production of saleable finished goods, including management of labour, process and materials. Particular emphasis is placed on short to medium term strategy.

The successful production manager will process the following core skills

Minimum Background: -

To lead a 3 shift operation managed by 24 hour responsibility Unit Managers in ensuring maximum utilisation of operational staff and equipment in achieving optimal line efficiencies within the business safety, quality and environmental requirements
Suitable candidates will have a proven track record of managing a team of shift manager whilst ensuring KPI’s, Quality and Health and safety standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities:-

1. Responsible for acting in a safe manner and to protect yourself and others at all times.
2. To understand key performance measures (KPI’s) for department and production lines.
3. To effectively run all production equipment to meet the KPI’s and targets.
4. Responsible for ensuring that plant, equipment and operating environment remains clean and safe and run to the required quality standards.
5. To monitor and develop own skills and those of line teams in line with business needs.
6. To assist in the delivery of the site and wider company objectives.
7. To adhere to site procedures and safe systems of work processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

o NVQ Level 5 /BTECH/HND Level or Degree within Supply Chain subject (desirable)
o NEBOSH or equivalent Health and Safety certification (essential)
o Minimum five years experience supervising or managing a team (essential)
o Experience of Microsoft Office products to a standard equivalent to ECDL
o Experience of continuous improvement practices and processes
