Reporting into the HSE Manager; your key responsibilities will be: -
*Manage your own HSE related continuous improvement projects for on time delivery and to predicated budgets
*Support the day to day HSE related queries across site
*Assistant Line Managers with Risk Assessments
*Coordinate and take IOSH training
*Support & coach Line managers where needed for site inductions for visitors, contractors and new starters
*Put in place parameters to calculate % waste and assist the various departments to manage their own waste streams
*Take departmental environmental noise readings
*Carry out weekly fire alarm tests, organise periodic fire drills, test emergency lighting and liaise with the local fire brigade for site visits
*Manage the COSHH database
*Ensure the safe storage of chemicals on site
*Internal safety inspections
*Monitor site security arrangements including swipe card access and implement any improvements, identify & resolve any potential issues.
*Manage the First Aid room & train the onsite Emergency Response members to improve their performance
Experience and Skills: -
*Have at least 5 years practical H&S work experience which has been gained in a Manufacturing environment
*Hold a valid NEBOSH Certificate
*Ideally also hold a NEBOSH Certificate Fire and have an Environmental related qualification too
*Good working knowledge of OHSAS:18001 & ISO:14001 & ideally ISO:45001 too
*Excellent people skills and be a strong communicator for Stakeholder management
*Be self motivated and have the ability to project manage multiple HSE related projects from cradle to grave
*Have a solution based approach to H&S and environmental issues and be open minded about change
*Previous experience of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) would also be advantageous
