A leading research company providing solutions and setting standards for industry has an exciting new position for a rapidly growing new division for smart home and smart buildings technology.

Our client delivers a range of services and projects for stakeholders across the built environment and telecoms technology providers. Part of this service includes the research of the latest smart home technology and communication protocols associated with this equipment ensuring the correct standards and certifications are put in place and the manufacturer's products deliver to customer's expectations.

We are seeking a degree qualified graduate in telecoms, mobile communication ideally with at least 1 years+ experience in telecommunications who is an inquisitive thinker and like to know how things work. You will be capable of testing wireless products, setting up smart systems, diagnosing infrastructure and component faults and producing reports with your findings.

You will be involved in the detailed research into gaining a full understanding of the following product and technology.

*Internet of things (IoT), Machine-to-machine (M2M), Connected Home, Smart Home, Connected Building, Smart Building, Smart Metering, Smart Cities
*Building management systems (BMS), Building Automations & Control Systems (BACS), Energy Management Systems (EMS)
*Monitoring, automation, control, intelligent systems, predictive
*Connectivity, wireless, radiocommunications, telecommunications, wireless area networks (WAN), home area networks (HAN)
*Interoperability standards - Zigbee, Zwave, Thread, 4G, 5G, KNX, Zigbee, Bluetooth, WiFi, Bacnet, Lonworks, Modbus, LoRa, Sigfox
Key skills for this role will include the following;
*A degree in electronics and communications systems or similar
*Good knowledge of wireless communication protocols for WAN and HAN
*Experience with wireless test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analysers, etc)
*Experience of performing wireless testing
*An inquisitive and exploring mind, with a passion for understanding how things work (or why they don't!!!)
*Capable of independent, self-driven and methodical research
*Ability to understand complex, multi-disciplinary systems
*Good communication skills and a commitment to team work.
