Junior Process Engineer
Summary: I am working with a low volume manufacturer in the Peterborough who are seeking a Mechanical Engineering graduate who has an interest in Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering.

Would you like to work as part of a Process optimisation team where you will help to develop processes for existing production and NPI to ensure process capability, reduced wastage and improved throughput?
I am working with a low volume manufacturer in the Peterborough who are seeking a Mechanical Engineering graduate who has an interest in Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering.
Please be advised that this is not a Graduate role alone, but would suit someone who has gained maybe 1-3 years post graduate experience and is now looking to push their career on.
Ideally in that practical work experience you will have gained exposure to: Process or Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Systems, Engineering Design and or Lean Manufacturing.
Naturally the salary you could command would be purely dependant on your level of qualifications and experience gained to date.
Your main responsibilities will be: -
Improve efficiency and throughput by reducing cycle time and work in progress
Ensuring process capability in conjunction with the Quality Engineer team
Support and contribute to the introduction of process control and generation of the foundational documents such as process maps, Cause & Effect Matrix, PFMEA's, Control Plans and Control Charts
Monitor and manage processes via implemented process controls
Reduce process waste and change over times
Review and generate work instructions and standard operating procedures
Generate, coordinate and report on trials to develop processes
Support New Product Introduction and New Plant Introduction projects
Assist in machine operator training where needed
Background I need in you: -
A degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 1 years' practical experience and the willingness to learn
Strong problem-solving ability - Root cause analysis, Design of Experiments and Statistical analysis
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, their principles and tools
Ability to self-manage your own workload
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand geometric tolerances
Be able to complete risk assessments
Strong I.T skills - Microsoft Office, and Minitab (or similar)
6 Sigma experience (preferred)
New Product Introduction experience is preferred
