Are you interested in a role that is not a traditional Security role alone; but will involve all aspects of Fire Safety, First-Aid, First Responder and a number of other duties not traditionally linked to a Security role.

If so then a Cambridge based Manufacturer (GMP & GLP) is seeking an experienced Security Officer to join their organisation on fixed term contract for approximately 6 months. Please note that this is subject to change and could be extended. The hours are as follows: -

*4 x early shifts, 07:00 - 19:00, followed by 3 rest days
*4 x night shifts, 19:00 - 07:00, followed by 7 rest days
*3 x early shifts, 07:00 - 19:00, followed by 4 rest days
*3 x night shifts, 19:00 - 07:00, followed by 7 rest days

The Security Officer will assist the Security Manager in supporting the business by contributing to the overall Security service supplied to the Cambridge site. You will work alongside existing company security officers to meet these requirements.

Please be advised again that this is not a traditional Security role alone; as it will involve all aspects of Fire Safety, First-Aid, First Responder and a number of other duties not traditionally linked to Security, so you will need to have the suitable experience to be considered.

The Security Officer will: -

*On a rota basis provide Security cover 24 hours per day, 365 days per year
*Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate well with all stakeholders.
*Understand conflict resolution for staff, visitors and outside contractors to ensure the safety and security of all people on site
*Learn and fully understand the companies policies and procedures
*Work alongside other team members to allow them to become self-sufficient within the role, to analyse information and evaluate results and choose the best solution to solve problems
*Have a strong positive mental attitude with an eagerness to learn and expand your knowledge and skills base
*Need a good level of health and fitness as this could be a physical role
*Carry out internal and external duties/patrols/procedures as instructed by your Security Manager
*Monitor, by way of the Security and fire systems and patrols, that the correct procedures are being followed throughout the site in relation to the use of Access control systems, GMP and GLP procedures
*Monitor and respond to all alarms
*Help monitor and control car parking, speed limits and other safety duties
*Be a first responder in the event of emergencies for both fire and first aid
*Issue security access control badges to all employees and contractors
*Assist in the operation of the fire alarm systems so as to ensure protection and safety of all buildings assets and personnel
*Assist reception in welcoming and receiving visitors to the complex during busy periods
*Ensure that all visitors are aware of company policies for each area
*Become familiar with Health and Safety in the workplace, and the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice at all times
*Work alongside other Security team members to complete the relevant training required to become a full Security Officer on site
*Work with the Security Manager to help manage departmental costs
*Any further reasonable duties which provide support to management

Background / Qualifications needed to apply: -

*Previously Worked in an GMP / GLP Environment
*Certified Protection Professional - CPP
*Certified Security Management Professional - CSMP
*Security Management Training
*HSE qualification
*Employment Law qualification
*Security background is not essential but will assist as all relevant training will be provided
*Home Office Approval (or working towards)
*First Aid at Work (or working towards)
*Any additional qualifications would be an advantageous
