Description: A new position has arisen in Northamptonshire near Wellingborough for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to maintain machinery and equipment for a multinational industrial manufacturing company.
You can be safe in the knowledge that you will be joining an experienced and professional Mechanical Engineering team in Maintaining all Machinery and Equipment on site.
The successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will have the task of assisting with key maintenance work for the company across various different platforms, such as: welding, pipe fitting, general machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics and fault finding of control systems.
Whilst keeping within a yearly maintenance budget of £650,000 you will be responsible for carrying out repairs to sustain site service and production as well the implementation of plant modifications to accommodate changes in new technologies and processing procedures within the manufacturing environment.
The team work a 2-shift rotating system from 06:00-14:00 and 10:00-18:00 Monday to Friday and on a rota system provide out of hours call out support too.
I salary of £25,000 - £27,000 dependent on experience (including shift allowance and callout) is on offer + paid overtime + excellent pension
You will have experience in most, but preferably all of the following areas: -
*Welding - manual arc, MIG, TIG, oxyacetylene
*Pipe fitting - carbon, stainless steel, screwed/welded
*Manual machining - turning, milling
*Overhauls - general assembly / disassembly of pumps, gearboxes, drive units, meters and motors
*Structural steelwork- fabrication and erection
*Hydraulics - power ream equipment/systems, motors, actuators etc.
*Pneumatics - control and sequencing systems, cylinders/actuators
*Knowledge and understanding of steam boilers
*Electrics - disconnection and reconnection of single and three phase motors
*Control systems - basic knowledge and an understanding of control systems for fault-finding
Minimum Requirements: -
*Apprentice trained (City & Guilds/ NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering) A HNC or above is preferred
*Equally capable working alone or within an engineering / maintenance team
*Previous work experience in an industrial based maintenance engineering role
