An expanding Peterborough based manufacturer is now seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with experience of APQP to join their growing engineering team.

An expanding Peterborough based manufacturer is now seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with experience of APQP to join their growing engineering team.

The main responsibilities of this Quality Engineer role will be to: -

*Introduce process control and generate the foundational documents such as process maps, Cause & Effect Matrix, PFMEA's, Control Plans and Control Charts
*Monitor and manage processes via implemented controls
*Ensure process capability by working with Process Engineers
*Complete internal and external Non-Conformance Reports through an 8D process
*Complete internal and external Corrective Action Reports generated from audits
*Deal with Non-Conformance Reports and/or Supplier Quality issues
*Analyse and regularly report quality KPI's
*Reduce process waste
*Review and generate work instructions and standard operating procedures
*Define methods and equipment to measure the quality characteristics of a process
*Evaluate measurement systems
*Assist in training machine operators
*Support New Product Introduction

Education and experience they are seeking:

*5 years' practical work experience as a Quality Engineer please
*Worked with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
*Good problem solving skills - 8D, root cause analysis, statistical analysis
*Be able to complete a Measurement System Analysis
*Be customer focused and able to manage your own workload
*Can work alone or as part of a team
*Ability to read engineering drawings (schematics) and understand various geometric tolerances
*PC Skills - MS Office, Minitab (or similar)
*Educated to at least a HNC or higher in an engineering subject

Any additional experience with Lean 6 Sigma would be advantageous
