My client a leading developer of high powered microscopy technology is currently seeking a Product Applications Manager to join their expanding product management department.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of scanning electron microscope technology, with a background in life or materials science, a proven background in customer facing sales and group management experience.
Key Requirements.
• Willing to travel to worldwide clients.
• Experience of operating scanning electron microscopes or knowledge of scanning electron microscope technology.
• A background in materials or life science.
Key Responsibilities.
Principal Elements
• Creation and management of an applications database through self and other application team members.
• Set up and manage customer focus/study groups with the assistance of application staff and product managers.
• Develop competitive sales strategies.
• Develop and improve the customer experience.
Regularly communicate with the market and sales force to: -
• Uncover new technical and application opportunities.
• Understand competitors’ products, strategies, strengths and weaknesses.
• Attend conferences and deliver application papers at all major electron microscopy shows world-wide.
• Keep the sales-force up to date with developments through the Marketing Support Bulletin (MSB) system and sales meetings.
Develop global application support and product development through: -
• Continuous development of the database through the addition of application information, papers and other marketing support material (power point presentations).
• Supporting the continuous development of “e-learning” material.
• Assisting in the evaluation and testing of new products and accessories (verification).
• Managing global application staff meetings to develop and share knowledge of new applications and demonstration techniques.
• Identifying potential cost savings
• Augmenting the product with value added components.
• Perform other duties that may be required from time to time.
In summary the successful candidate will have the ability to perform the above responsibilities and will have knowledge of scanning electron microscope technology, with a background in life or materials science, a proven background in customer facing sales and group management experience.
