At iNTECH, all of our consultants are trained and specialised in one of the six core areas we work in. By specialising instead of generalising, we can offer tailored advice by understanding a candidate’s experience, aspirations and personality.
Pharmacovigilance jobs focus on the different aspects of pharmaceutical products and drugs, including collection, detection, assessment, monitoring and the prevention of adverse effects. Such includes vast amounts of research, both written and practical, to be conducted on any particular product. Sourcing, collating and presenting literature and reports is a big part of the role.
Pharmacovigilance jobs focus heavily on the prevention of adverse effects and this has the most impact on whether a product will be used outside of control environments. Information can often come from clinical trials and sporadic cases from substances in public circulation that have new or unusual effects requiring more study to understand what happened.
To be successful in a pharmacovigilance career, you need a strong science background, usually with a degree and sometimes a postgraduate certificate. Being able to travel is a big advantage for instances where meetings or trials require you to have a physical presence. Senior roles will often involve supervising junior candidates in pharmacovigilance jobs.
